Closure of car parks from April 2015

Two carparks around SGH Campus will be closed to make way for a new Community Hospital.
Car park E opposite Blk 3 (SOC) - closed from 27 Apr 15
 URA Carpark along Kampong Bahru Road - closed from 1 Apr 15

Alternative parking is available at:
  • Carpark H - Shuttle Service to/ from Block 4
  • National Heart Centre Singapore (NHCS) Basement Car Park

Frequently Asked Questions

1) Why will URA Carpark (opposite NHCS) and Carpark E be closed?

These Carparks will be closed to make way for a new Community Hospital under the Healthcare 2020 Master Plan. The new Community Hospital will help patients with need for continuing care to be fully cared in our campus.

2) When will URA Carpark (opposite NHCS) and Carpark E be fully closed?

URA Carpark will be fully closed on 1 April 2015 (84 lots).
Carpark E will be fully closed on 27 April 2015 (100 lots).

3) Will you be building more Carparks with the closure of these Carparks?

Yes, a new Carpark (Open Space Carpark H) with a total of 600 lots will be opened in MacAlister Road (beside Multi-Storey Carpark (MSCP) H.

The Open Space Carpark H will open in 2 phases:-
1. 250 lots on 16 March 2015
2. 160 lots on 30 April 2015

4) Where else can I park? This is the nearest car park to Specialist Outpatient Clinics (SOC)?

You may wish to park at:
a) Multi-Storey Carpark (MSCP) H – Behind Ministry of Health (MOH) Building
b) Open Space Carpark H
c) National Heart Centre Singapore (NHCS) Basement Car Park (entry from Kampong Bahru Road)

MSCP H and Open Air Carpark H
Both MSCP H and Open Space Carpark H are located at MacAlister Road (behind MOH building) where the charges are lower. Shuttles buses are available from Carpark H to SGH Block 4.

NHCS
For those who park at NHCS, you can get to SOC by:-
1. Walking to SOC via the underpass from NHCS to SGH
2. Shuttle bus from NHCS (pick up point at level 1) to SOC
This route will take about 15 minutes to reach SOC from NHCS. Please note that there are limited seats on the shuttle bus.

5) What are the parking charges compared to Car Park E?

6) How do I send patient (e.g. my mother) to SOC if I park in MSCP H, Open Space Carpark H and NHCS as these Carparks are too far away?

If your mother has difficulties walking, we suggest that you first drop her and an accompanying next-of-kin (NOK) at Block 3 Specialist Outpatient Clinic before you park your car. Our Customer Service Officer (CSO) will be at the porch to provide a wheelchair and assistance. Shuttles buses are available from Carpark H to SGH Block 4. If you park at NHCS, you can get to SOC by walking via the underpass from NHCS to SGH.
