Health Services Research Unit (HSRU)

Biostatistics is the application of statistics and other quantitative methods to answer research questions in biology or medicine. Biostatisticians can assist in study design and the analysis of data so as to allow for accurate interpretation of and comparison among populations.

This service allows staff in SGH the opportunity to obtain biostatistics assistance at different stages in their research projects, which in some cases may lead to a formal collaboration in publications and grants.

Services provided by HSRU Biostatisticians include:

  • Consultations on study question, literature review, study design, execution, analysis, interpretation and reporting of results.
  • Collaborations on research projects for grant applications, publications and conference presentations.
  • Conducting statistical analysis.
  • Sample size estimation, randomisation schemes and blinding procedures.

To request for consultation or explore collaboration opportunities, please complete the HSRU Biostatistics Consultation Request Form.

For your information, this request form is accessible only on our intranet.  In order to access it on internet, PI need to raise an EUP to request for a 2FA which is subject to approval from respective HoDs and IT.
